Steve Brunt
"I love a challenge and adventure and have a strong sense of fun. I love trying new things and pushing myself to see what I can achieve. For my 40th birthday I climbed Mont Blanc, I learnt to surf for this year's celebrations, after learning to skateboard last year!"
What specific skills do you bring to the Blue Gnu team?
I really care about what I do and making a positive impact and difference to those people I work with. I bring my own unique life experiences to whatever I do and I do that in a practical and down to earth way, with a sense of fun and light heartedness that puts people at ease. I create an environment of trust and collaboration, where relationships are key to success. I am genuine and passionate in my approach and am committed to helping individuals and organisations achieve exceptional things through their people.
Who is Steve?
I am a brother, uncle, son, partner, and step-dad. My big passions outside of work are my family, creating fun and adventures in our campervan, and cycling. I have done several long distance rides, the longest being 200+ miles from the Kent coastline, setting off at sunrise, riding across London, Surrey, Hampshire, Wiltshire to finish on the Somerset coast by sunset of the same day. I'm doing the Northern version of the same event this year, starting just outside Newcastle and finishing in Ayr, Scotland. I am grounded and curious about people and what makes us all who we are and I have a strong sense of wanting to make a difference and do work that matters to me, with people who share that same passion.
What is your passion and mission?
Why do you do what you do?
I develop the emotional intelligence of leaders and teams, so that they can navigate challenges and uncertainty with greater confidence, agility, and resilience. I provide a safe and trusting space for all those I work with so that they can get maximum benefit from our time together, with a clear sense of who they are as a leader, and what they stand for.
What qualifications do you bring to the Blue Gnu team?
Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Insights Discovery, Liberating Leadership, Genos Emotional Intelligence, working towards ICF Coaching Accreditation.
What is the most interesting Blue Gnu project you've worked on?
All the projects I've worked on with Blue Gnu have been interesting so far!
Who would your dream client be and why?
I think it would be something in elite sport, specifically F1, Cycling or a more individual sport like triathlon or tennis. I would love to understand the mindset of elite athletes more and really delve into their motivators, how they handle setbacks and the team dynamics that supports success. To satisfy my curiosity and fun, I'd love to work with Lego!

Whilst my Spirit motivator enjoys independence and freedom, I thrive when I feel part of something bigger than me, so being part of the Blue Gnu tribe provides me with a community where I feel valued/can add value
